I went into this AT&T authorized retailer to take advantage of the BOGO deal on the iPhone 6s earlier this year. The agent was super friendly and accommodating... now I know why. As he answered all my questions regarding the BOGO deal, he neglected to tell me that I didn't qualify for it since I was upgrading and not activating a new line. All he had to do was inform me of this and I would have said thanks and left. I would have waited until I NEEDED a new phone since my iPhone 5s was fine, however, that is NOT what happened. Simmon (the agent) signed me up for two phones leading me to believe I was getting the BOGO, even telling me that I would see the payments for both phones on the next three statements before AT&T credits them back to me. After months of being charged for both phones I went into this retailer again to question why I'm still being charged for both phones for the 'buy one get one free' and his answer was "it can take up-to four months before you see the credit". Adding, "they want to make sure you can afford it" (?). I fell for it but when the fourth statement showed another payment due for both phones, I called AT&T directly. They opened a case and told me they would call me back after looking into it... I never heard from them. I called AT&T a few weeks later only to find that the case was closed. They told me I did not qualify for the BOGO therefore I have to pay for both phones. I told them I was mislead by the retailer and they told me to take it up with them. To make a long and frustrating story short.... I called and visited everyone, even called the corporate office, to no avail. It's like the Wells Fargo scam... they mislead you into believing you are getting something other than what they sold you. I was mislead by this retailer... no ands, ifs or buts. After repeated visits to the retailer, I was told by a temp manager for this store that I wasn't the only one dealing with AT&T "not honoring their BOGO deal". I am in the process of getting rid of AT&T, I was with them for 17 years but that means nothing to AT&T. Shame on this authorized retailer in Florence, OR, and shame on AT&T.
